Into our lives you came unexpectedly
All fluff and meows so enduringly.
I spied you among the confusing tangle
Of orange and grey in one great big mangle.
Saddle of brown on purest white fur
Bright shiny eyes, a pink nose for sure.
You quickly made it very clear
With us you wanted to always be near.
Rolling down the stairs, wobbling so bad
You made your bed on my wee mouse pad.
From that day on you had your own name
Tamlin the same of old Irish fame.
Tamlin you grew so fair and so strong
Made Jessie your human before very long.
On computers you worked with him side by side
Helping to fix them with your paws deep inside.
Nightly your claws kneaded his chest
Until finally you both were able to rest.
And oh how I screamed in the dark of the night
You sleeping in my sink, oh what a big fright!
And how we did laugh as you leaped to the sink
To play in the water and take such long drinks.
How often did I see you running away
From some new mischief you had done that day.
In the cold of winter you grew very ill
Our hearts grew faint and time stood still.
We prayed and we cried and we tried our best
Everyone's faith was put to the test.
All else in the world was put to one side
By you we stayed till all had been tried.
The day finally came when we knew it was time
To say our goodbyes one very last time.
Holding you we whispered our words of sweet love
Then God took you home with him up above.
Playing in God's garden you now wear your wings
And your little meow joins the angels and sings.
By the river of joy we will one day again meet
And the tears of happiness will be very sweet.
For now you just play and try to behave
Since God's waterfalls are enough to amaze.
You live on with us in memories so fair
So now your life story with the world we will share.
